Campaign and extra labels

How to build a UTM link

  1. 1

Enter the URL of the page your ad points to.

  2. 2

Add the source, medium and campaign — that is enough for the campaign report; add term and content if you need them.

  3. 3

Copy the finished link. Existing URL parameters stay, old utm_ labels are replaced.

Who it’s for

Media buyers

Tag every placement the same way so reports match across channels.

Marketers

Give each campaign a link that shows up as its own line in analytics.

Affiliates

Add your own labels to an offer link without breaking its existing parameters.

What a link can look like

Three required labels

Source, medium and campaign are enough for the campaign report in Google Analytics.

Existing parameters stay

A link that already has ?ref=abc keeps it; old utm_ labels are replaced, not doubled.

Safe encoding

Spaces, Cyrillic and special characters in labels are encoded, so the link does not break.

FAQ

Which labels are required?

Source, medium and campaign are needed for the campaign report. Term and content are optional.

Does case matter?

Yes. Analytics treats telegram and Telegram as two sources, so write labels the same way everywhere.

What about spaces and non-Latin letters?

They are encoded automatically and the link keeps working. For readable reports, prefer lowercase Latin letters without spaces.

Do you store my links?

No. The page only builds the link from your fields and shows it.
